Dr. Emi Kimura 

Associate Professor, Agronomist and Extension Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Vernon, TX

Dr. Kimura’s extension focus includes cultivar testing, nutrient management, soil fertility, cover crops, cropping systems, alternative crops, efficient irrigation and weed control. Her goal as an Extension Agronomist is to provide sustainable and economically sound agronomic practices through a collaborated effort with regional and state Extension specialists and research scientists. Dr. Kimura will participate in outreach activities pertaining to organic cotton production in the Texas Rolling Plains and parts of High Plains.

 

 

 

Shelley Heinrich

Communications Manager for the Cotton Board in Lubbock, Texas

Shelley Heinrich serves as the Southern Plains Regional Communications Manager for the Cotton Board in Lubbock, Texas.  Heinrich has spent the past eight years educating producers on the Cotton Research and Promotion program.  She and her husband are partners in a family farm in Lubbock, Lynn and Motley counties, operating both row-crop and cow-calf operations. Shelley received her BBS in accounting with a minor in finance from Lubbock Christian University.  Prior to establishing her full-time career in the ag industry, Shelley served in the banking industry for 27 years.  She has served on the South Plains Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership (TALL) planning committee, the NRCS State Technical Advisory Committee and the Agronomy Sub Committee, and as a board of director for Capital Farm Credit, Region 3.
